Must Hear: Carby – Discovery

Discovery’s Carby has been playing non-stop on my iPod for weeks now, and I never tire of it. It’s simply one of the most fun, upbeat songs I’ve heard in a long time and is guaranteed to make me dance whenever I hear it. Carby has (I can say from experience) managed to have conflicting outcomes on my moods as is appropriate to the situation – it’s cheered me up when I’ve been sad and calmed me down when I’ve been upset or angry. Strange, but somehow the song has done that.

Discovery comprises one part Vampire Weekend‘s Rostam Batmanglij and one part Ra Ra Riot’s Wes Miles, with VW’s Ezra Koenig guest vocaling (if that’s a word) on Carby. Being a VW fan, I listened to a few different Discovery songs, and while none of the others really stuck with me, Carby refuses to leave me alone. I’m not complaining, and no one I’ve introduced the song to has either. There’s no video for the song, but someone has put it up on YouTube. Do yourself a favour and listen.
